can anyone recommend some instructions/Morten’s Corner video that shows how to add a text block that shows in the videos as just the text without having any image showing at all?

Hi Penny,
In the video editor, you can use a textblock with an image - then use a full coloured image, or something else that does not resemble a step.
like this:
the image could even just be your logo, then use the “background color” toggle to fill the rest of the viewport.
