By default, the latest update of Microsoft Edge runs background extensions and apps in the background of your system. Even if you close Microsoft Edge in the taskbar, there is a good chance that one of its processes is still running.

This can cause problems during the installation and initial set up of ClickLearn Attain by producing the prompt that you need to close all windows of your Microsoft Edge. Users have found that after they close Microsoft Edge, and click OK the prompt does not go away.

How to Troubleshoot

If this message keeps appearing, the first thing you need to do is click Cancel, and close ClickLearn Attain.

Open Edge, click on the ellipses/menu and select Settings.

Next, click on System and performance.

In System and performance, disable the options for “Startup boost” and “Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed” and close the tab.

Start ClickLearn Attain again and continue the set-up process.

After set up is complete, we recommend going back to your Edge settings and re-enabling Startup boost and running apps and extensions in your background.
