ClickLearn Attain: Screenshots

One of the more frequently requested features has been the ability to use the hotspot on screenshots, and to blur confidential or sensitive parts of an image - we listened! With the new screenshot ability (previously bookmarks), you have a MUCH higher level of customizability and the ability to interact and select items from the screenshot, and add multiple levels of redaction! In the new image editor, you can add hotspots and redact sensitive content. In this example, the accounts and URL has been redacted: Even though using dummy data is recommended, should you accidently show sensitive data – you can now hide it!

In ClickLearn Attain using notes is far more intuitive and already from the first click you are presented with a choice of how the content block will manifest itself visually: Additionally, based on customer feedback you can now use any typical text editor formatting: We have also listened to the need for hyperlinks, they can be used too of course: Choosing exactly where the note will be places now has a proper explanation as well: We hope the new and revised way to use custom text and images via the content block feature is something you are as excited about as we are 😊

ClickLearn release version 11.0.0.75

Google Chrome extensions has been updated. Connector for Microsoft Customer Engagement has been updated due to changes in the UCI interface which will fix replay problem on lists. Due to change in tables GUIDs in the way Microsoft handles this in CRM Support for Business Central Embed Apps added within a help project. Instead of just entering an Environment name you may additionally enter the URL. https://[application name].api.bc.dynamics.com. The two values must be separated by the pipe character, e.g. Environment|Url. Problem with Word and PDF production in NAV Help projects has been solved. Both formats now available and working in help projects deployed to a NAV help server IFS connectors for Apps 8, 9 and 10 has been updated to support dropdown list in grid cells correctly. Dropdown lists for certain items exceeding a limit threshold has been resolved. ClickLearn extensions for Microsoft Edge browser now available on AppSource. No need to go to the Chrome

Beta release of new IFS FSM Web connector. For now this requires you to install our Google Chrome extension in developer mode. Hitting Enter in the search field will no longer clear the live searches done on a shelf / portal. ClickLearn now captures the “Name” value (typically as %4) where applicable, this will allow for APT processes used on tree and subtree creation and navigation. Basically, you can create a tree element in one recording, this generates a unique name that you store in your global-, recording-, or case values to use in the following recording in that book to interact with the newly created tree element.

Mastering change management and versioning with metadata

What is metadata? Medata is data about data. It describes and gives information about other data. How does metadata work in ClickLearn studio? Can be used to categorize and identify data without actively reading into the data itself. How can you use metadata in your content? Metadata can be used in the html view of the recordings, the word/pdf and even PowerPoint. It can also be used in individual recordings notes, referencing the specific recording’s metadata. How do you work with versioning and change management? By using the versioning tag of revision data and revision (version) you can always ensure that even if an individual prints out a work instruction as a hard copy, you can always see which version they are reading. Google Chrome Connector and the Native Messaging Host

What is it? The ClickLearn extension for google chrome is an extension that allows for clicklearn studio’s recorder process to identify individual elements on webpages and system interfaces through google chrome. The native messaging host allows for the google chrome extension to talk to clicklearn studio. When is it used? It is used only when the recorder process is running, otherwise it lies dormant. ClickLearn Template troubleshooting

Getting our default or ordering your own template: We highly encourage having a custom template, or at least our most recent default template, installed. https://community.clicklearn.com/getting-started-with-clicklearn-68/brand-your-content-with-customized-templates-49 This will affect the way that content looks when produced, but also the connector specific text and phrases used for each step in a recording. In a troubleshooting scenario, this may also prove to resolve issues with how the editor looks and how the produced content is presented. Creating your own template: It is also possible to jump into creating your very own template, using the guideline here. However, I do recommend you receive one from us, then make your changed to that instead - as it will save you time since the templating system is quite complex. Production troubleshooting

Book missing from shelf when content is produced: This typically, for one of the following reasons, The book is empty. An empty book, which contains no recordings, is not included in a shelf. The book title, or one of it’s recordings, contains illegal/unsupported characters. Some characters are used in URL strings, these are not allowed. Instead, please use the title option in the book or recording, or even shelf preferences. In the title, anything goes! Recording missing from book: Same as above, typically due to an illegal character in the title. The solution to this is the same. At clicklearn we do the best we can to have aotomatic solutions and workarounds for these types of scenarios, but there are so many unicode characters that we cannot catch them all first time around. The above method will ensure that your content is displayed as YOU intended. Tips for troubleshooting

Here are some basic troubleshooting steps to complete prior to reporting your issue to our support desk. Check your display scaling is set at 100% (http://chilp.it/bf833dd). Close all running applications except for the one you are recording, and ClickLearn Studio. Check your system is compatible with minimum system requirements (http://chilp.it/ddc3663). Check you have the latest version of ClickLearn installed (Help->About + installation link). Make sure to use your ClickLearn credentials to sign in to ClickLearn, to enable cloud services. Search the community for content related to your issue. After completing these steps, check and verify the issue is still there.
