ClickLearn Attain: Producing content

Welcome to another post about our upcoming ClickLearn Attain major product release. Today’s post will focus on producing content!In the current version of ClickLearn, depending on your production selection and size, producing content can be a time-consuming process. We know some customers have large and complex productions, which means finishing them may take several hours to complete. This has therefore been high up on our improvement list for ClickLearn Attain.ClickLearn Attain is built to thrive in the cloud, and this enables us to use cloud-based resources to speed up your production of content significantly. It also means you will not (with a few exceptions) have to manually run to complete a production process in ClickLearn Attain. In fact, a lot of the production will happen in the background while you are working in ClickLearn Attain, without bothering you, locking the application, or slowing it down.We also know a number of customers are in certain sectors where cloud usage is

How to crop overall screen on recordings?

HiIs it possible to crop the overall screen size that appears on the Try Me, Test Me videos. This is the area that has the purple line around it in the thumbnail editor.The screen areas in green and red are fine, but I do not what the area displaying my desktop to appear on the videos, which it currently does (see attached).

Once more a warm, sunny summer Friday in Copenhagen has arrived, and with it a new Developer’s Diary post. Today, we will look at how we plan to remove the known pains associated with assets management in ClickLearn - which is managing external images, such as process diagrams.Meet the Assets directory!Assets directoryAssets are external files such as (but not limited to) images. Assets can be uploaded to, and organized in folders, in the Assets directory.Upload menuEach project in ClickLearn will have its own Assets directory. ClickLearn Attain: Structuring your content

It’s summer time here in Copenhagen, and what better way to start your summer weekend than to get some interesting insights on the upcoming ClickLearn Attain? In today’s post we look at how we plan to retire the “book” and “shelf” objects, which you know so very well from the current version of ClickLearn, and replace them with a new structure editor. It will vastly improve the author user experience when configuring your learning portals, while also bringing in some important new possibilities. Let’s dive in and have a closer look! IFS/ClickLearn: Recordings stop during playback?

Have a client that is trying to create ClickLearn recordings early in the implementation process. Screen layouts are still changing, custom fields being added, etc. Also, the data is changing and security permissions sets changing. Will changes in all of these affect the ability to playback a recoding, or only some things? Is ClickLearn capable for instance of handling changing field location on a screen header or tab? Or any data changes since a recording was done, and now? What is the Best Practice? Wait until the system is more stable as regards to changes? Or start early, knowing they will have to update continuously perhaps depending on degree of changes?

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to connect two or more recordings in one big recording. For example we have a recording how to create customer orders the other is how to proceed the customer order another could be how to invoice the customer order. NAV2017 - Include FastTab Name

Hey everyoneWhen expanding or collapsing a FastTab in Dynamics NAV 2017, ClickLearn does not capture the title of the FastTab. The produced instructions are: ‘Click the header Collapse’ or ‘Click the header Expand’. It would be nice to have a reference to the title of the FastTab. For example, when expanding the General FastTab, ClickLearn could produce the instruction ‘On the General FastTab click the header Expand’ or something similar. Does anyone know how to get a reference to the title of the FastTab?

Why does Create Date update once Modified on list of ClickLearn Courses?

When modifying different courses, I noticed the Create Date of the Clicklearn is updating to the modification date. Is there a way to prevent this, so the create date remains the date initially created?

Tracking changes made to a recording

What is the best way to identify or keep track of recordings that have been modified by other authors? Is there a way to identify what was changed; who made the change; and when the change was made?

I was looking to add a few extra steps to a recording, but the replay overwrote more than I intended. Is there a way to rollback the replayed steps? I produced the documents prior to the replay and have not re-produced with the new screens.

Modifying default translations provided out of the box

I am trying to modify some of the translations that are provided out of the box in ClickLearn. After I have used replay to capture the recording in a different language (German in my case), I open the recording, switch to German and double click on the step where I want to correct the default text in German. IN the popup window, I click on the modify template icon: In this case, the default translation says “Geben Sie Text...”, I would like to change this to “Geben Sie den Text...” which sounds better. According to the icon mouseover text, the entry in the current template is under the entry “Keyboard” in the template. But in the template, several top level entries are highlighted, and there are often several entries in the details, which have the same text. For ex. My question to the experts here: how do I identify, which template items are to be translated for the given step? Global setting for Video Pause

Global setting for Mouse Point

Does anybody know if it's possible to adjust the Mouse Point setting globally (in the Template)? I'm tired of correcting all the steps and would like to have the mouse pointer set to "Middle, center" as the default value.

Steps are missing from my recording

Did you know that you can? Use an external mouse to resolve steps not being recorded when using a laptop If you find that you have completed a recording and the steps of the recording are missing this may be a result of using a laptop’s touchpad/mousepad to complete the recording. We have found that some laptops will need to use an external USB mouse to create ClickLearn content. Of course, if this does not resolve the issue submit a ticket to ClickLearn Customer Care! support@clicklearn.com

Cropping Images and Selecting New Areas

Hi all, I’ve just been watching Morten’s video on working with recording Apps as I need to record steps on a HHT. I’ve got all my images taken and saved. However, I’m struggling with cropping/adjusting my saved image… Morten does it very quickly in his video and I’m struggling to capture a new area to select and then crop the image. My red and green boxes don’t want to shift in size and aren’t very flexible! Is there a beginners video on cropping images as I must be missing something obvious! Thanks.

Making a copy of a clicklearn recording

Hello, When I create a copy of the clrx file, rename the copy, and then import it into Clicklearn; it removed the original Clicklearn recording from the Clicklearn recordings view. What I am trying to do is create copies of existing clrx files. And then adjust the copies to be specifically be used by the Robotics functionality (which seems to work great btw!). If I’m not approaching this with the correct idea of what a clrx file is please feel free to correct me. :--) Cheers, Marc
